The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is a community-driven program. The main aim through this program is to benefit smaller communities economically while helping skilled foreign workers by offering them an immigration path to permanent residency Canada.
Candidates need to find a job with an employer in 1 of the participating communities and if the community supports the candidate, successful applicants will have a chance to move to the designated community.
Who is eligible?
Participants must meet the following criteria:
- Get a recommendation from a designated community economic development organization;
- Have 1 year of continuous work experience (at least 1,560 hours) in the past 3 years or have graduated from a publicly funded post-secondary institution in the recommending community;
- Have a qualifying job offer;
- Meet or exceed the minimum language requirements;
- Meet or exceed the educational requirements;
- Prove you have enough money to support your transition into the community;
- Intend to live in the community.
