Canada Startup Visa – LATEST Immigration News – SUV Behind the Scenes

Today is a gray day for all SUV PR applicants under process. In April, IRCC announced major changes to the SUV program and told designated organizations that the SUV program was a “good program”. They said the 10-group cap for each organization was a temporary measure to clear the backlog. It appeared they were working to improve the system. But as more information is trickling in, it seems they have a different agenda, a less encouraging plan being implemented behind the scenes that they haven’t released to anyone yet.

Canada Startup Visa - New Revelations

The IRCC has either created a special group of officers OR assigned a specific officer, trained and experienced in business immigration, to audit and review ALL SUV PR applications under process who have not received passport requests letter yet. The IRCC has officially released the hounds on all SUV PR cases. This team or officer is the new IRCC K-9 team.

Previously, if any SUV PR applicant received a pre-arrival letter, there was no further assessment or request for update from the officers on the case. The applicants would typically receive a passport request letter. Now this has ALL changed.

Thanks to some of our followers and current clients, we have detected a trend in the SUV PR processing. SUV groups who have received pre-arrival letters from the IRCC are now being subjected to another round of questions and requests for updates on their business – but this time the level of scrutiny has notably increased. The K9 team is out for blood.

Canada Startup Visa - A New Line of Questioning

Thanks again to some of our partner networks in the SUV ecosystem for sharing this info which we have compiled from multiple letters. These new questions reveal a line of questioning that is beyond what we have ever seen before. Questions and requests for the SUV applicant such as:

* Provide a letter explaining how you came to know of your consultant.

* Do you have records of communication between yourself and the consultant?

* What was the consultant’s process leading up to the submission of the application?

* How much did you pay for immigration services?

* When and how did you render payment? Do you have proof of payments?

* Were there any intermediaries involved in your start-up visa process? How did you come to know these intermediaries?

* Who assisted you in completing the immigration application?

* Why are the social media links you provided for the start-up business not in use?

* How did the business idea come to fruition? Why this business in particular?

* How did you meet your investor?

* Can you provide proof of communication leading up to this investor agreement?

These are just a few examples of the new questions the K-9 team is sending out to SUV groups who are waiting for their final PR. The IRCC has picked up on information that perhaps some SUV groups are not genuine and is now working to sniff those groups out. SUV groups with wishy-washy business plans, lack of documented business progress or lack of clarity in their business concept, will not survive.

All the groups waiting now for their PR need to be aware and prepared to answer these questions and provide ongoing proof of their business operations and intention to manage and run the startup inside Canada.

Conclusion

The IRCC has officially declared war in secret on SUV consultants and applicants. But there is an upside. If you know what to expect, prepare in advance, and have the right support, you can still get your PR. Don’t lose faith in the Canadian SUV program!  All this means is that certain groups and service providers are being pushed out, and only the applicants who know what they are doing and have knowledgeable support will survive.
