Dominica located in the Caribbean is one of the handfuls of countries in that area offering direct citizenship through investment programs. It offers visa-free travel to 140 countries.
The Citizenship Investment Program in Dominica is run through the Economic Diversification Fund (EDF). The criteria and investment options are outlined below.
Dominica Citizenship is extended to the applicant’s spouse, dependent children, and dependent parents or grandparents. Fees vary according to the number of family members included in the application for citizenship. Dependent children up to the age of 30 are eligible to be included in the citizenship application. Parents and/or grandparents 55 years and older are eligible to be included as well. There is no residency requirement at any time before or after the investor receives their Dominican citizenship.
Investment requirements
The following contribution and real estate options are required depending on the number of dependents included in the application:
Contribution options:
- Single applicant: one-time contribution of US$ 100,000 to the Dominica government (EDF);
- Main applicant and spouse: one-time contribution of USD$ 175,000 to the Dominica government (EDF);
- Main applicant and spouse with up to two (2) dependent children: one-time contribution of US$ 200,000.
A contribution of US$ 25,000 per additional dependant to the above-listed figures.
Real Estate Investment Options:
- Minimum real estate investment of US$ 200,000 (in addition to the applicant’s fees based on family size).
The real estate must be maintained for a minimum of three (3) years and can only be resold after five (years) of receiving citizenship.
Specific real estate projects are approved by the Dominica government for this citizenship investment program.
